For this year's MIMUN conference, delegates will be assigned to one of the five following committees.
AGENDA
1. General Assembly 1 (DISEC)
Agenda A : Addressing Foreign Military Intervention and Sovereignty Issues
National sovereignty is the idea that independent nations own their full right and power of itself, without other nations interfering.
Though it's solidity and the range being defined differently in every nation, international society is becoming more interdependent due to globalization, the fact that national sovereignty is an independent nation's own right is the common consent. However, depending on each countries' ability to protect themselves or to solve domestic issues, it is occasionally being infringed directly or indirectly. Weak nations being involved in The Super Powers' relationship in the form of proxy war is the typical example of such infringement. Their support in irrelevant conflicts such as the Middle Eastern Wars is not only harming the nations that are, in fact, unrelated but also triggers the conflict to be extended under endless backup. Therefore it is necessary to bring up the notion to solve the extensive infringement of an individual nation's political borders.

Agenda B : Battling Breaches in Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity is a protection against the criminal or unauthorized use of electronic data, or the measures taken to achieve this. Cybersecurity has been a controversial issue for a long time. This issue was spotlighted when the World Wide Web was first launched by a British computer programmer called Tim Berners-Lee. Although this technological revolution helped the world to access information anytime, anywhere, several problems such as ransomware and cyberattacks seemed to evolve as more information became accessible.
In 2018, there was a news about Cambridge Analytica, a data collection firm, that it attained profiles of millions of Facebook users to influence the US election. This public exposure led Facebook to confront the public backlash. Users of search engines and social network services were concerned that their personal information would be disclosed. As time goes by, with the introduction and increasing popularity of social media, the expansion of e-commerce, it is really important to discuss several effective ways to regulate the circulation of information and protect the internet users.

2. Security Council (SC)
Agenda A : Addressing the Political Conflicts in Burundi
Although the government of Burundi was established on basis of a separation of powers, the ruling party now frequently manipulates the judicial branch. After the recent constitutional referendum, the incumbent president Pierre Nkurunziza is able set to be in power until 2034, which is an obvious indication of dictatorship. Additionally, countless tribal warfare and conflicts among minority groups are threatening political stability. In spite of several Non-Governmental Organizations urging the government to abide by international regulations, it has rejected, dismantling a cooperative platform for legal transparency. The international society should look for solutions to secure democratic elections and improve life conditions in the country.
Agenda B : Promoting the Non-proliferation of weapons of Mass Destruction
Weapons of mass destruction constitute a class of weaponry with the potential to kill millions of civilians and to jeopardize the natural environment. It has through generations, led to catastrophic effects. In order to achieve progress on the disarmament of these weapons and to target proliferations, multilateral treaties have been enforced by the international community. Treaties like the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) and Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) have been signed and yet, the goal of non-proliferation has not been attained. The international community must seek specific measures to implement non-proliferation as soon as possible.
3. United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)
Agenda A : Addressing the Human Rights Issues of the Rohingya People
The Rohingya people have faced decades of discrimination, statelessness, terrorism and targeted violence in Myanmar, and have been forced to seek their new shelters in Bangladesh. Increasing refugee influx raised serious economic crisis in Bangladesh, but Rohingya people have no other options as almost all villages and infrastructures in Myanmar are burnt and gang rape and terror bombings are reported repeatedly. Even after years of collaborative international response and aid, refugees are still extremely vulnerable and are subjected to life-threatening traumas and lack of food and shelter. As thousands and thousands of refugees are still roaming around to find their new homes, the Rohingya crisis is at the top of the priority of human rights issue and needs immediate attention of UNHRC.
Agenda B : Battling Against Contemporary Forms of Slavery in Developing Nations
Since the General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed the Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Persons and of the Exploitation of the Prostitution of the Others in 1951, the United Nations officially outlawed all forms of slavery. A half-century later, slavery remains. Even worse, whereas traditional slavery involved a definite manipulation of the people, modern slavery disguises itself in various forms, namely forced labour as well as prostitution, serfdom, and debt bondage, abusing 40 million people. In order to promote the utmost tenet of the Human Rights Council- providing a world that is free and equal to all- ending slavery once and for all is crucial.

Agenda B : Improving Global Labor standards for women
Throughout the conference, delegates will be discussing the issue of unequal labor standards throughout the world, focusing in the segregation and uneven opportunity of women laborers. Throughout history, women have been treated as a minority, resulting uneven treatments and discrimination. However, due to an advance in society, people are able to think about the prejudice held in women especially in the labor field. Yet this led to a difference in law and recognition in which countries treat women in the labor field.
Delegates are recommended to discuss the issue of society, economy, and culture and resolve such controversial topic.
